NEW DELHI, January 8: Lok Shakti chief Ramakrishna Hegde is expected to announce his party’s seat sharing pact with the Bharatiya Janata Party after meeting BJP leaders Atal Behari Vajpayee and L K Advani tomorrow.

The party is likely to settle for 12 of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka, against its earlier demand for 16 seats. Most of these seats would be those in which the BJP stood second in the 1996 general elections, according to Lok Shakti sources.

Hegde’s understanding with the BJP is all but finalised with the Congress showing no interest in accommodating the Lok Shakti beyond four seats.
