CHANDIGARH, Nov 15: Tiny tots of Lohia International School, Manimajra had put up an exhibition, on the school premises, displaying various artifacts, thermocol and sand models made by them. The exhibition was organised as part of Children’s Day celebrations.

All the classes were tastefully decorated. Parents in large numbers visited the display of children’s creativity, which were created in the art and craft classes. A puppet show, dance programme in which students danced to Punjabi numbers and class parties were the highlights of the celebrations organised yesterday. The school principal, Elizabeth Kahlon, said that it was for the first time that such festivities had been organised on Children’s Day.

As many as 300 children took part in various games, music and dance competitions organised by the House Owners’ Welfare Association, Sector 34. The highlights of the function were martial art display by the children of St Patrick School, fancy dress and gidda performance. D.R Mehta, patron of the association, gave away prizes to the winners.

At a function organised by Government Senior Secondary School, Manimajra, winter uniforms were distributed among students by Bank of India. I.S Dosanjh, Deputy General Manager of the bank, presided over the function. A health camp was also conducted and medicines and vitamins were distributed among the students. The health camp was organised by the bank in collaboration with Civil Hospital, Manimajra. Later, students presented a colourful cultural programme.
