CHANDIGARH, Dec 1: Lala Lajpat Rai Government College, Dhudike scored a 5-2 comfortable win over Govt College, Ludhiana in their last league encounter to win title in the PU Inter-College men's hockey championship at PU Campus today.LLR College, who maintained a clean slate in the meet, dominated the contest today but were successful in their venture in the 25th when Manjit Singh sounded the board.Five minute later Arshdeep Singh breached Govt College defence and sent the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 2-0.But on a counter-attack Govt College Ludhiana forward line were able to reduced the margin when Amolak's superb hit beat the goalie (1-2).After the break Tejinderpal Singh and Dilberjani of LLR College moved up and the former scored the team's third goal in the 43rd minute while Dilberjani scored in the 49th minute to increase the margin of victory to three goals (4-1).Ranjit scored the fifth goal for LLR College in the 67th minute (5-1). But in the dying moment Satwinder shot for Govt College, Ludhiana (2-5).In another league match, SD College-32 defeated GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar 4-2. SD College, who were leading by 2-1 at the break, scored two goals more in the second session to take the second spot in the meet.Navdeep Singh scored for SD-32 in the 3rd minute. He was again on the target in the 42nd minute. Gurpreet Singh (29th) and Manmohan (40th) were the other goal scorers for the team.Sunil Kumar (20th) and Manjinder (67th) scored for Gurusar Sadhar.Government College, Ludhiana were third in the meet.In `B' division tournament, Govt College, Karamsar beat Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, 4-3 via tie break to win first position.GNN College, Doraha were second in the meet.
