Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar today said his party would give tickets to all 21 rebel LJP MLAs from the dissolved Bihar Assembly.
The MLAs, who were about to join the JD(U) when the Bihar House was dissolved, will officially join at a ceremony in Patna on Thursday.
‘‘We will field all (rebel MLAs) in the forthcoming Assembly elections,” Nitish said.
His party has also invited Independent MLAs from the previous Assembly to join the JD(U) or other NDA partners. Nitish does not anticipate any problems over the induction of Independents as JD(U) candidates finished second or third in many constituencies won by the former.
The JD(U) will begin its campaign for the Bihar elections with a “nyaya yatra” that will crisscross northern Bihar. It starts next Monday and will continue for nearly three months.
The yatra will begin from West Champaran district and cover Bettiah, Sitamarhi, Darbangha, Motihari, Muzaffarpur and Madhubani. JD(U) leaders George Fernandes and Sharad Yadav along with other senior party leaders and BJP politicians will address public meetings.
Nitish told reporters that people are angry that the Bihar Assembly was dissolved without the NDA being given the chance to prove its strength in the House.
