PANCHKULA, JULY 25: The Lions Club, Chandigarh Shivalik, organised the 19th charter nite and installation ceremony of Lion J. S. Bhatia and the Board of Directors at Hotel Pallavi in Sector 5 here, yesterday.The Board of Directors consist of the following: Lion J. S. Bhatia as president, Lion I. J. Singh and Lion Rakesh Bansal as the first and second vice-presidents, respectively, Lion Balbir Singh as the secretary and Lion Kewal Bansal as the treasurer.The directors of the club installed on the occasion included: Lion D. V. Sharma, Lion R. S. Virk, Lion G. S. Mastana, Lion Bablinder Chopra, Lion R. S. Mangat, Lion Dharam Pal, Lion D. K. Bhalla, Lion B. K. Mengi and Lion R. S. Vasdev.The past presidents include Lion R. M. Gupta, Lion Kiran Bhatia, Lion Vinay K. Patika and T. S. Grewal and Lion B. D. S. Chauhan.On the occasion Lion R. M. Gupta was honoured with an international award. The Lions Club also decided to adopt the school children of Dadu Majra village and will bear the expenses for fees, stationery and note books for 61 children for the session 1999-2000. The club has already adopted eight school children, for whom dresses and shoes have been donated by the club.
