India’s leading professionals are warming up as the golfing season gets busy. Jyoti Randhawa is in good form after his injury and Arjun Singh seems to be getting there.

In Europe, Jeev Milkha Singh has found his touch and is working to keep both his Tour cards. And on the Indian PGA Tour the race for the Order of Merit is heating up.

The $500,000 US dollar Volvo China Open was the big event on the Asian PGA Tour last week, attracting a full field to Shanghai. Unfortunately, it was yet another 14th place finish for Jyoti, who was well placed going into the weekend after rounds of 69 and 67. A level-par 72 on day three still left him in contention and alongside James Kingston, the two golfers were four time winners on the tour with the odds in their favour heading into Sunday.

However, both faltered as Australian David Gleeson maintained his lead to eventually win the tournament, Mexican Pablo del Olmo finishing a close second. While Kingston finished third after three putting the par-five 18th, the highest finish by an Indian was an eighth place tie at six-under for Arjun Singh who carded rounds of 72, 73, 67 and 70.

Jyoti had a disastrous 77, but is in good from and just needs to work on his short game, which was lacking last week. Another interesting fact is that his injury seems to have worked in his favour—he had a tendency to lift the club from the outside, while starting his swing.

Well, after he fell off his Yamaha in March this year and hurt his collar bone, it was reattached making it slightly shorter.

This, in turn cured his problem and he’s swinging back on plane! Meanwhile, after a good finish the week before, Jeev shot rounds of 72, 70, 68 and 72 to finish in 57th place at the Linde German Masters with his tournament total of six-under. The European tour player is encouraged after his two rounds of golf with Ernie Els at the European Masters in Switzerland where he finished tenth.
