There was high drama at Patna Junction Railway Station on Saturday night. Enraged over his berths not being confirmed in AC First Class, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s MP brother-in-law Subhash Yadav reportedly delayed the Patna-New Delhi Rajdhani Express by 15 minutes.
According to unconfirmed reports, the MPs men even resorted to chain pulling.
Sources in the Railways said that Subhash was annoyed to find that he had been allotted berths in AC Second instead of First Class, and shouted, “I am the Parliament, I am the Parliament”. He said that he had informed officials about his travel well in advance.
Chief Public Relation Officer of East Central Railways, AK Chandra, denied that there was any uproar at the Railway Station or chain pulling but said that two passengers in AC-I willingly shifted to AC-II as they were known to the MP.
Railway Minister, who was in Banka and Bhagalpur inaugurating a host of projects, was annoyed when reporters asked him about the incident.
“I don’t know anything. Nothing big has happened”, he added.
