Bangalore, Feb 4: The Karnataka State Cricket Association is going the whole hog to further the competitive spirit of its cricketers. In a tie-up that could be mutually beneficial, KSCA has entered into an agreement with the Kenya Cricket Association for an annual exchange of tours between the two associations.
As per the agreement reached between KSCA’s Brijesh Patel and KCA’s Sharad Ghai, Karnataka will tour Kenya to play six one-dayers and one four-day match between July 27 and August 17 this year. These matches would be an ideal preparation for the Kenyan team ahead of the ICC Trophy. Likewise, Kenya will tour Karnataka every alternate year. Hospitality will be on a reciprocal basis.
As per ICC regulations, any match played between a member nation and a first class team will be accorded first class status.
KSCA is also to send an Under-19 team to play a series of matches in Sri Lanka and Singapore. These reciprocal tours commence this April after the school and Pre-University annual examinations. This arrangement too would be on an annual basis.
