WELLINGTON, February 6: New Zealand walloped Zimbabwe by eight wickets in the second One-Day International cricket match, here, today.

In reply to Zimbabwe’s 138 in 49 overs New Zealand batsmen Nathan Astle and Adam Parore entertained the 11,000 spectators with some splendid hitting before victory arrived in just 28.2 overs.

Shayne O’Connor capitalised on the Zimbabwean’s shortcomings with career best one-day figures of five for 39 and Chris Harris joined an elite club of Kiwi cricketers to have taken 100 wickets.
