Bangalore, Jan 19: Nitin Kirtane was the lone Indian left in the line-up of the last eight of the Wearhouse-Century Club $ 10,000 ITF Futures men’s tennis championship.

Kirtane overcame compatriot Mustafa Ghouse 2-6, 6-3, 6-1. The 19-year-old Ghouse had toppled sixth seed Nir Welgreen in the first round.

Markus Karnellos of Austria, who ousted top seed Aisam Qureshi of Pakistan, was tamed by Viktor Bruthans 6-7 (5-7), 3-6. Miles Maclagan of Great Britain, who had beaten second seed Prahlad Srinath on Tuesday, met his match in fourth seed Boris Borgula of Slovakia 3-6, 3-6.

Two other seeds fifth seed Andy Ram of Israel and seventh seed Radim Zitke of Czech Republic also entered the quarter-finals.
