With Air Sahara looking to shed equity to raise funds for its expansion plans, liquor baron and owner of Kingfisher Airlines Vijay Mallya today said he was open to the idea of picking up stake but was currently examining the memorandum of information floated for this purpose. ‘‘Air Sahara is raising equity. There is an information memorandum prepared by the Ernst and Young. Obviously, we are one among many who are interested. We are studying the memorandum,’’ he said on the margins of a CII interaction with the IATA Director General today.

Jet Airways head Naresh Goyal, however, completely ruled out any plans to pick up Air Sahara stakes. ‘‘We have no interest in Air Sahara. It (earlier news reports) is wrong….We have enough on our platter to handle.’’
