One boy. One girl. Chandigarh. Rephrase that. More debutants. More dead hours.

He is ambitious lad headed towards New York, but best friend begs him to go to Chandigarh instead. She, slightly better than he, is bubbly Punjabi ‘kudi’, who likes lying on the road and waiting for cars to run over her.

They wear masks and dance. What’s this, Halloween? Then come the families. Lots of Punjabi boister follows. So does this thought: what am I doing here?
