AHMEDABAD, December 13: The Calypso had being playing for too long but today the mood changed – it was time for some Hindustani classic fare. After turners Hrishikesh Kanitkar and Gyanendra Pandey exposed the visitor’s age-old spin phobia to reduce them to 184 for eight, Amay Khurasia (68, 6×4) and Sadagopan Ramesh (52, 3×4) demystified their age-old pace strength. The Blackout scare turned out to be a hoax as the hosts composed a six-wicket win in the second one-dayer here on Sunday to keep the hosts alive in the series.

The sight of two attacking left-handers against quality pace bowling was the only highlight on an otherwise dull day. Khurasia dethroned King by striking three fours in his fifth over while Ramesh showed scant respect to the `not-like-old’ Ian Bishop. The two put up 116 partnership in 138 balls which made rest of chase a formality.
