MUMBAI, Jan 21: Rajasthan opener Gagan Khoda will lead the India `A’ squad for its Pakistan sojourn featuring three four day `Tests’ and as many one-dayers.

Mumbai leg-spinner Sairaj Bahutule will be the 23-year-old Khoda’s deputy. Orissa swing bowler Debashish Mohanty’s is another interesting inclusion in the 15-member touring party.

Incidentally, both Bahutule and Mohanty were part of the senior squad that emerged triumphant in the recently concluded Independence Cup tournament in Dhaka.

The team also has two players having illustrious pedigrees, Mushtaq Ali’s grandson Abbas Ali and Sunil Gavaskar’s son Rohan.

The 23-year-old Madhya Pradesh opener Jai Prakash Yadav has been named as a standbye for Reetinder Sodhi, who is currently in South Africa rpresenting the India U-19 team in the Youth World Cup tournament. The secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jaywant Lele, while announcing the team informed that one of the selectors, Sambaran Banerjee, was informed on telephone from South Africa by the Indian u-19 team manager that Sodhi’s injury was serious and he may have to be flown back.

Yadav would take his place in case Sodhi is unable to make the tour.

The squad is: Gagan Khoda (Rajasthan, captain), Sairaj Bahutule (vice-capt), Wasim Jaffer, Jatin Paranjpe, Ajit Agarkar (all Mumbai), Nikhil Haldipur, Rohan Gavaskar (both Bengal), MSK Prasad (wicket-keeper), M Madhukar (both Andhra), Sanjay Raul, Debashish Mohanty (both Orissa), Murali Karthik (Railways), Abbas Ali (MP), Reetinder Singh Sodhi (Punjab), and Noel David (Hyderabad)
