AMRITSAR, July 26: A series of Khalsa Samagam has been started at the Akal Takht to intensify the Khalsa wave among Sikhs. This was stated here today by a spokesman of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).Dedicated to the tricentenary of the birth of Khalsa, the function will include kirtan by Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh, Bhai Jasbir Singh Khanewal, Bhai Daya Singh Dilbar and Gurdev Singh Mehandipur.Dc conducts surprise raids: Deputy Commissioner Narinderjit Singh conducted surprise raids on Government High School and Civil Dispensary in Padhri Kalan village in Tarn Taran sub-division yesterday and found the entire staff absent.According to an official spokesman, the Deputy Commissioner stayed in the school from 8 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. but no teacher reported for duty. The staff of Government Primary School was present.
