BELLARY, February 6: Senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, B S Yediyurappa, has said that Congress president Sitaram Kesari is making the dream of Mahatma Gandhi come true. After Independence, the Mahatma had advised Jawaharlal Nehru and other leaders to liquidate Congress since it had fulfilled its aim of Independence. Yediurappa was adressing a gathering at the Government Junior College Grounds in Bellary on Wednesday night. He predicted the fall of the Janata Dal Government in the State after the Lok Sabha elections and made it clear that the BJP would not support a coalition Government; it would prefer a fresh mandate.Listing several lapses of J H Patel's Government in the State and the United Front Govt at the centre, Yediyurappa said, ``J H Patel is the last Chief Minister in the history of Janata Dal in the State. The Dal front is crumbling since many of its legislators are joining Ramakrishna Hegde's Lok Shakti.''He said BJP will win all the 18 seats it is contesting while its ally, the Lok Shakti will win 5-6 seats including Bellary, adding that former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda would not have to wait much longer to take political sanyas (which is what Deve Gowda had promised to do if the BJP came to power). He charged that with a one-point programme - to keep BJP from forming a Government - the Congress supported the United Front but withdrew support twice. The country did not want elections so soon since thousands of crores of rupees will be spent on this, he said. By such actions, the Congress has lost the moral right to seek votes. On the Congress using Sonia Gandhi for canvassing, he quipped that since they could not get a `purush' to campaign, they brought Sonia Gandhi ``who is still a resident of Italy'' and by this act, the Congress had made a mockery of democracy. Yediyurappa also said he had a list of corrupt ministers in the Patel Government.
