Imphal, Feb 18: Kerala remained at the top of the medal charts as their canoeing and kayaking team showered gold once again by claiming six out of eight finals, besides two silvers in the National Games.Kerala had 10 gold medals today six from the lake, the others coming from woman jumper Lekha Thomas, cycling and two from the swimming pool.In boxing, golden boy of Manipur Dingko Singh knocked down Puran Singh of Meghalaya in a preliminary of the bantam weight category. To the delight of the packed crowd in the boxing arena, the referee stopped the match and awarded the match to Dingko when the third round was in progress.In another incident, a Manipur boxer L Dhenae Singh was disqualified for kicking his opponent Hemant Kumar of Punjab. Punjab cyclist Kulbir Singh completed a golden treble with yet another record to boot. The 20-year-old policeman led Punjab to 4000m men's team pursuit gold with a Games mark of 4:48 minutes. Kerala's Saji Kumar won the men's 1000m Sprint while Bihar's Sangita Khanclaimed the women's title after the final race against T Chitra (Kerala) was re-run twice due to obstruction by the cyclists. Manipur girls Rameshwari Devi and Binakumari Devi lead their team to another new National Games record in the 3000m Team pursuit.Jaspal Rana's brilliant performance landed Delhi the team gold as they swept three of the four gold at the range today. Rana, Samresh Jung and Vivek Singh claimed the team title totalling 1728 points.
