Two-wheeler giant Bajaj Auto Ltd is exploring various options including an equity partnership to strengthen its alliance with Japanese firm Kawasaki — its technical partner for motorcycles. “On March 11, a Kawasaki team will be here and we will discuss this issue again,” said Bajaj Auto president Rajiv Bajaj referring to media reports that the two companies might enter into some sort of equity partnership for its motor-cycle division. At present, Kawasaki gives Bajaj Auto the technological know-how for some of its motorcycle models.“Neither of us may buy equity in each other. because Kawasaki does not need our money in Japan and we don’t necessarily need theirs in India,” he told reporters.
