CHANDIGARH, May 19: Katia kidnapping and molestation case will come up on June 6 for arguments on application seeking Katia's presence through "warrants of arrest". The case was today adjourned by UT Chief Judicial Magistrate Sant Parkash. The application assumed significance after the rejection of prosecution's earlier plea seeking the appointment of a commission for recording Katia's statement in France. The request has been filed by the prosecution following the prosecutrix's failure to depose before the court despite repeated reminders. It may be recalled that Katia, a French tourist, was allegedly kidnapped from her Kenyan friend's residence in S.A.S. Nagar and molested by the grandson of the then chief minister of Punjab Beant Singh on August 31, 1994. She had expressed inability to depose apprehending danger to her life.
