Kapil denies IPL a counter to ICL

Chairman of the Board of the ICL, Kapil Dev, denied that the newly floated BCCI˜s Indian Premier League was a counter to the ICL.

Former fast bowling ace and Chairman of the Board of the rebel cricket league, the Indian Cricket League, Kapil Dev, denied that the newly floated BCCI’s Indian Premier League was a counter to the ICL.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a press conference, Kapil Dev first refused to comment on the BCCI’s IPL project but later said, “It is good for the country and cricket. Good luck to all.”

He declined to speak more on the subject on the pretext that he had a flight to catch.

He immediately left the hotel where Hallmark, a construction company, had organized a promotional event with its brand ambassadors Kapil Dev and actress and Rajya Sabha MP Hema Malini on Friday.

Kapil’s words ‘good luck to all’ could even mean, the former Indian captain applied his comments to both IPL and ICL.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India had on Thursday announced the formation of the IPL, which will be supported by top test playing nations, Australia, South Africa and England, besides India.
