Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh has finally decided to appear before the Liberhan Commission that is probing the Babri Masjid demolition. Singh gave the assurance when the police served a non-bailable warrant on him today.The former CM gave a surety of Rs 10,000 and said he will appear before the commission on September 23.However, Singh made it clear that his commitment to depose before the commission was subject to the outcome of his petition in the Delhi High Court the hearing for which is scheduled for September 18. In the petition, he challenged the warrants issued against him by the commission.Singh said today that if the Delhi High Court upheld his argument that the commission could not force him to depose, he would keep away from the hearing scheduled for September 23.
