Kallis calls the shots

It was South Africa’s sixth win from seven games in the Triangular contest, and their 10th win in their past 11 limited-overs internationals.

Jacques Kallis blazed away with his maiden One-day hundred but South Africa failed to make full use of it and finished on 233 for seven.

Paceman Makhaya Ntini was called into the side, making him the first black player to represent South Africa in international cricket. Wicketkeeper Mark Boucher was also given a debut in a game which is little more than a practice match for South Africa. South Africa have already qualified for the best-of-three finals against New Zealand or Australia.

Kallis led the onslaught on the New Zealand attack and shared two innings building stands with Gary Kirsten and then Daryll Cullinan.
