The city school principals have come back with very useful tips given to them by Dr APJ Kalam, former President of India, during the 15th National Conference of Sahodaya School Complex held by CBSE at Bhopal recently. Majority of principals from Punjab attended this crucial conference.

RS Gill, principal of Guru Nanak Public School, and director of Ludhiana Schools complex, said, “Each word told by Dr Kalam was inspirational. I have read his speech about a dozen times and also distributed some copies to my school teachers. I will soon get the feedback from them in this regard and would implement his suggestions in the school.”

He said that at this conference, Kalam spoke at length about “My school will transform my students with knowledge and value systems.” Inspired by his views about vision, Gill said, “As per Dr Kalam, the vision should be to make a beautiful school, generating righteous youth, happy youth who are professionally sound and morally upright. The vision does not means big building having big laboratory and big infrastructure.” Kalam also said that there was a need for paradigm shift in thinking in the evaluation process.
