President A P J Abdul Kalam assured quake-affected villagers of Tangdhar full support from the nation and expressed his solidarity with the survivors of October 8 quake. Kalam today morning arrived in Srinagar for two-day visit to the quake affected villages of Kashmir.

In Tangdhar, Kalam visited village Kharpora only six kilometres away from the Line of Control (LoC) . “I appreciate the courage of the people of Tangdhar. They (villagers) have shown that they master the problem rather than problems mastering them,” he said.

Accompanied by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Governor S K Sinha, Kalam told villagers he shared their grief. “ I came here to see relief and rehabilitation process under taken after the quake hit the region,” he said. “ I am happy that villagers are starting their lives afresh.”
