Dr Murli Manohar Joshi, Union HRD minister, today threatened to put the CPI(M) on the dock of the National Human Rights Commission on grounds of preventing opposition candidates from filing nomination in the ensuing panchayat polls in West Bengal.
Incidentally, the Opposition’s persistent complaints about candidates being prevented from filing nomination papers by CPI(M) cardres gained legitimacy with the state Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya issuing a written statement a couple of days back urging party workers not to take such measures.
