Family of Birju Baiga, who died in the Forest Department’s action against Baiga adivasis in Kawardha district, in Chhattisgarh, earlier this month has finally been heard.Chief Minister Ajit Jogi has not only sanctioned a Rs one lakh relief for Jugri Bai, the widow of Birju, but has also ordered the Forest Department to stop its ongoing drive for eviction of the adivasi community from the forests.This happened after Jogi met national convernor of the Ekta Parishad P.V. Rajgopal and family members of the deceased, who were especially brought to Raipur for talks.
