Three months after CM Ajit Jogi went on a massive campaign to put up billboards to advertise his achievements, the BJP and NCP lodged separate complaints with the Election Commission demanding the dismantling of 2,000 ‘‘Jogi-centric’’ hoardings.
BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan, who flew here this morning, said: ‘‘All hoardings and billboards put up at government expense must go.’’ He added: ‘‘Jogi’s picture and the list of so-called achievements of his government amount to violation of the model code. State BJP president Raman Singh has been instructed to meet CEO K.K. Charavotri.’’
The party has also asked for withdrawal of all school bags which the government has distributed among tribal children. ‘‘We would not have put the school children to such a loss if the bags did not have Jogi’s picture on them,’’ he said.
In Ballia, HRD Minister Murli Manohar Joshi demanded Jogi’s resignation in wake of the CBI filing an FIR against him in a forgery case.
