CHANDIGARH, January 9: Around 15 senior citizens braved the early morning winter chill to take part in the fast walk and jogging competition at the Sukhna Lake here this morning.

The competition was organised for those above 60 years of age, by the Chandigarh Traffic Police as part of the Ninth Road Safety Week.

The results in order of merit are:

First — G. S. Virdi (65 years); Second — D. V. Bhatia.Consolation prizes — Sharda Aggarwal and Sant Hari Singh, who also happened to be the oldest participant at 91 years of age. Later, Bhatia announced a special prize for Sant Hari Singh.
