After casting its lot with the UPA government in the trust vote, the JMM on Monday said it might get two berths in the union council of ministers after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh returns from the SAARC summit in Sri Lanka.
“The party has the claim to the ministerial berths. It may be realised after the Prime Minister returns from his foreign visit,” JMM President Shibu Soren told newsmen in reply to a query as to when the party was expecting a call for ply to a swearing-in.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to attend a SAARC summit in Colombo beginning on August 2.ed to attend a SAARC summit Soren, however, did not disclose which of the two MPs would represent the party in the union council of ministers.
The JMM has five MPs–four from Jharkhand and one from Orissa.
