The Jammu and Kashmir Government is providing Electronic Voting Machine training to the polling staff after Election Commission announced an unprecedented seven-phase poll schedule for the state.

About 1200 employees of Pulwama district participated in the first phase of two-day Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) training concluded today under the supervision of District Election Officer, officials said.

The second phase of EVM training will be conducted on October 29 in the district, they said.

Apart from that about 3000 employees were imparted training on handling of EVM in Shopian district in the first phase.

However, in Kangan, Ganderbal, Lar and Wakoora blocks also about 2000 poll personnel were imparted training in their respective areas today, sources said.

The state would go for a seven-phased assembly polls on November 17, 23, 30, December 7, 13, 17 and 24.
