India won the women’s one-day cricket international series in style, drubbing England by ten wickets in the fourth match here today.

A near capacity crowd here was treated to some magnificent medium pace bowling from the ‘woman of the match’ Jhulan Goswami, who wrecked England with a career best 5-16 on a slow pitch. Goswami’s efforts helped India bundle out the visitors for a paltry 50, their lowest total ever. The Indian openers – Karuna Jain (12) and Jaya Sharma – (29) finished the demolition job in style and ended the match at the stroke of lunch. With today’s win, India took an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.

Brief scores

England: 50 all out in 30.4 overs (Jhulan Goswami 5-16, Amita Sharma 2-14, Nitu David 2-4) lost to India: 51-0 on 14.5 overs.
