CHANDIGARH, Sept 6: A double bogey on the three-par 207-yard 13th hole spoiled Jeev Milkha Singh’s chance of finishing among top position holders in the Canon European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre course in Switzerland on Sunday. According to information received here today, the top Indian professional golfer carded two over-par for a total of 288, four-over-par and finished at 66th position.

Jeev was two-over at the end of first nine holes with bogyes on the fourth and ninth holes. The Chandigarh golfer hit another bogey on the 16th hole. However, he played better on the last nine holes except the double bogey on 13th hole which proved unlucky. Otherwise he had credited himself with birdies on the 11th, 14th and 15th holes.

The 27-year-old Patrik Sjoland of Sweden dazzled in putting to claimed the title at Crans Montana with 262, 22-under-par in the 800,000 pound prize money tournament. His scores on four days were 65, 66, 62, 69.

Sven Strouer of Germany (69, 63, 65, 68) finished three-strokes behind the champion with 265, 19-under-par while Darren Clarke of Northern Ireland (64, 68, 66, 70) was third on 268, 16-under-par. Gordon Brand Junior of Scotland (68, 68, 66, 67) was fourth with 268.
