Police today handed over possession of the house of Javed Sheikh, the alleged Lashkar-e-Toiba militant killed in an encounter last month, to wife Sajada. First Class Judicial Magistrate J.C. Jagdale had on Monday directed the Pune police to hand over the possession of the house to Sajada.
After Javed’s house at Kalas was sealed after the encounter on June 15, Sajada moved an application through her lawyer, Asim Sarode, seeking possession of the house. On Monday, police filed an affidavit in the court, saying they were willing to hand over the flat to Sajada.
Meanwhile, Inspector Rajendra Joshi today filed a say on behalf of the Pune police in connection with Sajada’s application for return of her son Sadik and daughter Zainab’s academic certificates. Police said they had not seized any academic certificates of the children. However, they said they were in possession of their birth certificates and were willing to return them to Sajada.
