MOGA, Dec 25: Sports School, Jalandhar blanked Ludhiana XI 4-0 while Golden Hockey Club, Moga, defeated Shivalik Sports Academy, Chandigarh 2-1 on the second day of the Champions Trophy hockey league for under-19 boys group being played at Bhupinder Khalsa Higher Secondary School ground. In another match Surjeet Sports Academy, Jalandhar beat Firozepur XI 6-2.For Sports School, Jalandhar, Ramandeep scored a hat-trick. His three-in-a row came in the second, fifth and 17th minute of second half. Sarbjeet Singh got the opening goal in the ninth minute. In the match between SSA, Chandigarh and Moga Golden Hockey Club, both the teams were 1-1 each at the breather. In the second session Mansher Singh got the match-winner through a penalty stroke in the 26th minute. Earlier, Prabhjot Singh scored for Chandigarh in the 11th minute while three minutes later Mansher levelled the score.In the last match of the day, Budhnath got three goals (not hat-trick) while Major Singh and Tejinder Singh shot one each for Surjeet Sports Academy.Amit and Rupinder got one each for Firozepur XI.Pushpa's recordsHamirpur: Hamirpur's Pushpa Thakur created four new meet records in the Himachal Pradesh State Open athletics championships which concluded at Sundernagar in Mandi district yesterday.She won the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m races for which she was also declared the best athlete (women).
