AMRITSAR, FEB 26: SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur, who has been ex-communicated from the Sikh community by Akal Takht jathedar Giani Puran Singh, will soon pay obesiance at the Golden Temple here, thus terminating her ``ekantwas'' (retreat).A day after Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal held a closed-door meeting with Akal Takht jathedar Giani Puran Singh here, Akali sources said that Bibi Jagir Kaur would come to the temple ``with a large number of her supporters with in a day or so''.``It seems that jathedar has agreed to some of points raised Badal,'' the sources said today.Baba Mangal Singh Satlani, who was present at last evening's meeting, when contacted confirmed that the jathedar has ``diluted'' his stance. ``Gianiji (Puran Singh) has agreed to sit with four other jathedars if Bibi Jagir Kaur appears before the Takht,'' he said. The Akal Takht jathedar was issued a `hukamnama' (religious edict) from Guna (Madhya Pradesh) on January 25, stating that the SGPC chief has been ex-communicated from the Sikh `panth' (community) over the Nanakshahi Calender, claiming that she had deviated from the `maryada' (religious tradition). The baba said that the meeting of Badal and Giani Puran Singh in a ``cordial'' atmosphere, had paved a way to sort out the present panthic crisis which arose from the hukamnama issue. The hukamnama had led to a lot of controversy involving the two top panthic institutions - Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Akal Takht. The SGPC chief did not relent to the jathedar's order to appear before the Akal Takht, and lately went into retreat. The `ekantwas' began on February 5.Badal, who was busy campaigning for the prestigious Nawanshahar by-election in the state, yesterday called on the jathedar here. He later indicated to the press that the matter would be sorted out soon.
