
In a bid to inspire students of the Valley to opt for civil services, the J-K government has approved a proposal to sponsor IAS coaching of 20 meritorious candidates in reputed institutions.
Principal Secretary, General Administration Department, Khursheed Ganai said today while interacting with a gathering comprising officers who recently cleared the Combined Civil Services exam and students aspiring to clear CCS. The function was organised by S N Das Gupta College to felicitate officers who recently qualified CCS exams.
“Very soon, we will conduct interviews for selecting students for coaching,” he said.
Ganai said the Government had already worked out modalities for the selection of the candidates. They will be given a stipend of Rs 10,000 to buy reading material, Rs 5,000 as maintenance expenditure, besides boarding and lodging facility at J&K House.
Very few students from Jammu & Kashmir opt for civil service examination in the state and at the national level.
While reiterating the Government’s resolve to create state-of-the-art educational infrastructure, Ganai also emphasised the need for creating financial support to inspire students to pursue administrative jobs.
