J-K gets first Chief Secretary from Ladakh

The J-K government on Monday appointed C Phunsog as the new Chief Secretary replacing V Bakaya who reached superannuation age.

The J-K government on Monday appointed C Phunsog as the new Chief Secretary replacing V Bakaya who reached superannuation age. Bakaya has been made advisor to CM Ghulam Nabi Azad and will also be the CEO of the Economic Reconstruction Agency.

The government, which met here under Azad, also announced a major shake-up in its bureaucracy. C. Phunsog, the first Chief Secretary from Ladakh, is a 1972 batch IAS officer. He is also a recipient of the Padmashree (1988). He has several other milestones to his credit.
