PUNE, March 25: G K Shriji, a student of Third Year LLB, has been charged with extortion and ragging his fellow college mate.Ninteen-year-old Rajesh Rajan has lodged an FIR against Shriji. Rajesh has alleged that he was being ragged and extorted by Shriji ever since he took admission for First Year LLB in July 1998.The FIR also accused Shriji of thrashing Rajesh and relieving him of Rs 3,000 in cash and a gold chain.A son of a contractor, Rajesh hails from Alappy town in Kerala. He came to Pune after passing pre-degree examination from his native place. Shriji, who also hails from Kerala, studies in the same college.``He would harass me in many ways. Immediately after I came down to Pune, he said I should give him a party and took Rs 3,000 from me. Some days later, he took other installment of Rs 2,500,'' Rajesh alleged. He claimed that Shriji would often ask him to imagine that the floor of his room was a pond and swim. He also accused Shriji of forcing him to consume liquor on a few occasions. "All the students staying at my lodge were sympathetic. However, they did not have the nerve to oppose Shriji," he said.
