The Indian boys’ compound team, comprising of Abhishek Verma, Sumit Mishra and Sonam Pintso Lepcha, won the gold medal in the team championship out-shooting Hong Kong by 211-192 points in the Asian Grand Prix Second Round Championships that concluded at the Taiwan Archery Range on Tuesday. In recurve, India bagged silver medals in both the boy’s and girl’s section after they lost to the hosts Chinese Taipei in both categories. In the boys section, the hosts pipped the Indian contingent of Rajib Basumatary, Prabhat Kandir and A. Raju by just one point losing 210-211 in the final. On the otherhand, the girls threesome of V Pranitha, Rosie Lalremliana and Nisha Rani Dutta went down 184-203 in the final to settle for silver. India ended the championship between 12 countries with a good haul of four gold medals, two silvers and two bronze medals. Earlier, Rajib Basumatary, Abhishek Verma and Namita Yadav won the gold medal in the individual championship.
