•How does it feel to be playing your second T20 final after the world championship last year?
• It feels great to be part of any winning team. Actually, things have been similar. In South Africa last year, we weren’t among the favourites and here too people didn’t have much hope from Rajasthan Royals. There we lost only one match, and here we’ve already won 12. But we had lost the final back then. I am praying history doesn’t repeat itself.
•Were there pressures as part of a team facing a lot of criticism?
• No, not at all. When this team was bought, everybody was of the view that we won’t win more than a couple of matches. But we kept working hard and built a good combination. We played as a team irrespective of nationalities.
•How was it to play under a captain like Warne?
• Shane has been unbelievable. A captain has to be accurate and fast in his decisions in this format. Whatever decisions he (Warne) has taken so far have gone perfectly for the team, which is remarkable.
•You made your debut in T20. Does that give you an edge?
• When I came here, I was confident of doing well. But frankly, if you want to spoil any young bowler’s dream of a good career, make him bowl in this format. Yahaan naye bowler ki maut pakki hai samjho (In this format, a novice cannot survive). In this format you need to be ready with different game plans. Make the batsmen think.
•Were you more relaxed knowing that you are not representing your country?
• Being a professional, wherever you play, you need to give your hundred per cent. Whenever I walk on to the field, I simply keep in mind that I’m representing my team, whether it’s Rajasthan or Pakistan.
