MUMBAI, July 29: The Income Tax (IT) sleuths today seized a stock of dry fruits valued at Rs 1.26 crore from a city-based dry fruit dealer and sealed nine lockers of various persons connected with the firm.

Top IT officials stated that the department conducted raids on various dry fruit firms and sealed the lockers of one Pravinchandra Nanji Dedhia of M/s Pravinchandra and Co and his relatives for tax evasion. According to them, "Admission of undisclosed incomes till now is at Rs 41 lakh." The firms belonged to the family members of Dedhia and the exact amount of tax evasion could be assessed once the lockers were broken open, he said.
