IPS officer Satish Sharma, who was credited with effectively controlling the post-Godhra riots in Ahmedabad and who has been without a posting for the past four months, has finally got a job. Sharma was posted as Deputy Director, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ahmedabad, yesterday.
At the height of the riots in the city last year, Sharma had been brought in as Additional Commissioner, (Sector-I) Ahmedabad, along with Satish Varma. Both the officers had won much praise for their handling of the situation.
However, the two were subsequently transferred. While Sharma got a posting yesterday after a long wait, Varma is still waiting for one.
