PATIALA, JAN 31: Some of the candidates who appeared in the Indian Oil Corporation written, objective type test for the post of apprentice engineer, consisting of two parts general aptitude and knowledge of the subject at S D College, Sector 32, Chandigarh today alleged they were given the question paper in Hindi, even though they had never opted for this medium.One of the affected candidates told Newsline here tonight that their repeated pleas to the supervisory staff that they be provided xeroxed copies of the question paper if the question papers were in short supply, fell on deaf ears. The candidates feel the question paper in Hindi was bound to affect their performance.This candidate alleged that in his room alone, there were at least six candidates who got the Hindi question paper. Ten candidates were code listed for the finance exam.The affected candidates have appealed to the Indian Oil authorities to take a compassionate view of the situation and order a re-test for them.The Indian Oil had advertised 435 posts of engineers/officers and graduate apprentice engineers. The written test was held in 16 centres all over India.
