A day after the Dalals committed suicide, a 50-year-old industrialist chose to end his life by jumping off the ninth floor of a building in Nariman Point on Tuesday.

Bharatbhai Laxmichand Dedia was found lying in a pool of blood outside the building that also houses Inox Multiplex at 3.30 pm. The Marine Drive police rushed Dedia to GT Hospital where he was declared dead on admission.

Police said Dedia, the proprietor of Mammal Steel Industries, was with his accountant Jayesh Kesharchand (35) on the terrace when the incident took place. Kesharchand told the police that Dedia, a resident of Telang Road, was undergoing severe mental tension because his company had suffered huge losses.

Though no suicide note was found, the police say it appears to be a case of suicide. However, they have not ruled out the possibility of murder. ‘‘It is too early to answer any questions at this stage; we are exploring all possibilities,’’ said senior inspector Isak Bagwan. The police have already questioned the guards of CR-2 building.

Dedia is survived by his wife and two sons.
