LONDON, APRIL 4: Scarborough have fallen out with World Cup authorities over advertising for the warm-up game between Yorkshire and India, scheduled for May 12. The club has been told by organisers only World Cup sponsors can have advertising at the venue for that game. But Scarborough have insisted they want to keep faith with their own sponsors and are reluctant to take down their advertising boards.

Scarborough chief executive Cec Snell said: “It is a dilemma for the club. We want the game to go ahead but we certainly do not want to fall out with any of our own sponsors and it may be that we will pull out of staging the game.” Yorkshire, who are responsible for organising the warm-up match, say that they are in talks with the World Cup organisers and hope to resolve the problem, otherwise they will find another venue.
