India’s Nepal envoy shifts to London

Indian Ambassador to Nepal Shiv Mukherjee was on Monday appointed as High Commissioner to United Kingdom in place of Kamalesh Sharma, who has been elected as Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.

Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Rakesh Sood has been moved to Nepal. Ambassador to the Conference of Disarmament Jayant Prasad has been sent to Kabul while Joint Secretary (Disarmament) Hamid Ali Rao has taken up Prasad’s post in Geneva.

Meanwhile, Indian Ambassador to Israel Arun Kumar Singh has been appointed Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) in Washington under Ambassador Ronen Sen. He’s waiting for the transfer of the present DCM, Raminder Singh Jassal, to take up the charge. The MEA’s longest serving spokesman Navtej Sarna may be moved to Tel Aviv.
