CHANDIGARH, July 7: India’s standing in the International soccer may not be very impressive but there is one segment in which the Indians holds a virtual monopoly. The Addidas balls used in France ’98 World Cup is testimony to the fact as they are fitted with latex bladder manufactured by a Gurgaon based industry — En Kay India Rubber Company.

Says DK Jain of the En Kay group, “All our specification are in accordance with those laid down by the Addidas. The soccer ball used in this World Cup has been manufacture in Europe but the inflatable bag (bladder), which is an essential part of the ball has been made by our Gurgaon based unit exclusively for them.”

The company has been pioneer in the manufacturing of latex bladders since 1964 and holds the distinction of marketing it’s product to renowned good companies like the Mitres of England, Puma of Germany, Addidas of France and Beltona of Holland, informed Jain.

One of it’s sister concern Cosco Indian Ltd is also a prominent name in sports goods and is a supplier to companies like Addidas.
