LUDHIANA, JAN 9: The National hockey camp for Indian probables is in jeopardy again as the camp did not start off today with around 25-30 campers turning up for the same and the School Games Federation of India (SGFI), which is organising the Asian Schools Hockey tournament from January 18 to 25, claim that they have the hockey grounds of PAU booked from January 9 to 25.

Chabbra told `Indian Express’ "I have the written letter which authorises us to make use of the astroturf from January 9 to 25. The camp from Chandigarh will be shifted to Ludhiana on January 11.

Moreover, Punjab Chief Minister Prakash singh Badal has also asked Education Minister Tota Singh to assure all things go smoothly.

Punjab Sports Director Raminder Singh has also said that all matters will be handled at Government level and the tournament will be conducted.

Speaking on the issue whether it was possible to conduct two camps at one place, he said. It would be squeezing both the camps and no one would be able to practise properly. Moreover during the tournament it would be hardly possible to conduct the camp here as no time will be there.

No university authorities had the total list of the probables and no one from the IHF was there to inform of when the camp would start or even inform players. It is likely to shift the senior camp to Patiala.

Many players from Punjab Police, Railways and one player from the BSF reported today but could not practise in the absence of any firm information from the responsible quarters.
