In a fresh diplomatic initiative, Indian High Commissioner Satyabrata Pal on Friday met Pakistan Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir in Islamabad in an apparent effort to defuse the tension between the two neighbours in the aftermath of the Mumbai attacks.The two diplomats discussed the regional situation even as media reports said that Pakistan has moved thousands of additional troops towards the Indian border.Further details of what transpired at the meeting were not immediately available.Pal returned this week from New Delhi, where he attended a meeting of Indian diplomats abroad with External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
