MUMBAI, Aug 17: India’s Bikram Oberoi was beaten 10-8, 9-5, 9-5 by Pakistan’s Mobashir Gul in the boy’s under-16 in the semifinals of the Malaysian Junior Squash Open tournament in Kuala Lumpur today.

Oberoi, seeded 13, had upset his 5th seed compatriot Abhijit Kukreja 9-10, 9-0, 9-0, 9-3, in the quarter-finals, according to a release of the Squash Rackets Association of Mumbai (SRAM).

In the boy’s under-14, India’s Sidarth Suche bowed out in the quarter-final stage when he was beaten 9-6, 9-5, 10-9, by Malaysia’s Looi Fon Sow.Rhea Bhandare of India also made her exit in the semi-final of the girl’s under-14 group to bring the Indian challenge in the tournament to an end. She lost 7-9, 3-9, 1-9, to host country’s Teng Ooi Ean.

Rhea had thrashed compatriot Supriya Balsekar 9-0, 9-0, 9-0, in the quarter-finals.
